The Mission Behind HALO BUILTFounded by builder and veteran Pete Angel Martinez, HALO BUILT exists to elevate safety, leadership, and career growth while advocating for the trades and the industry as a whole. Pete has spent nearly three decades in the field — a superintendent and mentor who has been involved in major projects across Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Florida, and New York. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve and the Texas Army National Guard, assigned to the 386th Combat Engineer Battalion out of Baytown, TX, where he advanced to sergeant (E-5) and led a squad.Through HALO BUILT, Pete is pulling back the curtain on a truth too often overlooked: there is real success in the trades. For some, it’s the only gateway to a career — for others, it’s the fastest path to thriving through hard work, grit, and skill. Pete advocates for the trades as a respected choice, just as he does for those pursuing college in the AEC space. His mission is simple: to shine a light on the real opportunities in the trades and AEC world, while helping veterans, tradespeople, and future leaders build stronger careers and stronger communities.
