The Mission Behind HALO BUILTHALO BUILT was founded by builder and veteran Pete Angel Martinez.Pete has spent nearly three decades in the construction industry, working his way through the field as a superintendent and mentor on major projects across Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Florida, and New York. Alongside his civilian career, he served in the U.S. Army Reserve and the Texas Army National Guard with the 386th Combat Engineer Battalion out of Baytown, Texas, where he advanced to Sergeant (E-5) and held a platoon-level technical leadership role.HALO BUILT grew out of environments where accountability is non-negotiable, safety is earned through discipline, and individuals are expected to take ownership of their work and decisions. While rooted in the trades and the military, the principles behind HALO BUILT apply far beyond any single industry or background.Through HALO BUILT, Pete speaks and writes about personal accountability, discipline, and career ownership—drawing from real-world experience rather than theory. His work emphasizes the value of hands-on skill, leadership under pressure, and taking responsibility for one’s path.Pete advocates for the trades as a respected and viable career choice, while also supporting higher education and other professional paths within and beyond the AEC space. The mission of HALO BUILT is to elevate standards, promote pride in work, and encourage individuals to build careers—and lives—rooted in responsibility, purpose, and long-term value.
